DefiNITIOn  graphics processing unit (GPU) A  graphics processing unit  ( GPU ) is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display device. GPUs are used in embedded systems, mobile phones, personal computers, workstations, and game consoles. Modern GPUs are very efficient at manipulating computer graphics and image processing. Their highly parallel structure makes them more efficient than general-purpose central processing units (CPUs) for algorithms that process large blocks of data in parallel. In a personal computer, a GPU can be present on a video card or embedded on the motherboard. In certain CPUs, they are embedded on the CPU die. [1] In the 1970s, the term "GPU" originally stood for graphics processor unit and described a programmable processing unit independently working from the CPU and responsible for graphics manipulation and

Computor network ( LAN, MAN, WAN )

 Introduction to networking

Definition :-

Computer network is a group of Inter-connected computer aur collection of hardware component and computer inter-connected by communication channels lof resources and information.A Network consider of two or more PCs connected together for the purpose of sharing data, resources, hardware it is called as networking.

Explain different types of characteristics of computor networking .

  •    Cost :- cost includes the cost of the network component installation and their maintenance.
  •    Reliability :- Reliability defines the reliability of the network component and the connectivity between them.
  • Security :- Security includes The protection of the network component and the data Content or the data transmit between them.
  • Speed:-  Include of how fast data is transmitted between network and points.
  • Scalability :- scalability Define how will the network can adopt to new  new growth, includes new user, application, and network components.
  • Topology :- Topology describe the physical cabling layout and the logical way data moves between components.

Explain the different type of  computor network
:-

Computer network Categorised as three types of network LAN, MAN, WAN.

1. LAN ( Local Area Network )

local area network (LAN) is a computer network that interconnects computers within a limited area such as a residence, school, laboratory, university campus or office building. By contrast, a wide area network (WAN) not only covers a larger geographic distance, but also generally involves leased telecommunication circuits.

Ethernet and Wi-Fi are the two most common technologies in use for local area networks. Historical network technologies include ARCNETToken Ring, and AppleTalk.

2. MAN ( Metropolitan Area Network)

metropolitan area network (MAN) is a computer network that interconnects users with computer resources in a geographic region of the size of a metropolitan area. The term MAN is applied to the interconnection of local area networks (LANs) in a city into a single larger network which may then also offer efficient connection to a wide area network. The term is also used to describe the interconnection of several local area networks in a metropolitan area through the use of Point to point -in -point  network between them .

3.WAN ( wide area network )

wide area network (WAN) is a telecommunications network that extends over a large geographic area for the primary purpose of computer networking. Wide area networks are often established with leased telecommunication circuits.[1]

Businesses, as well as schools and government entities, use wide area networks to relay data to staff, students, clients, buyers and suppliers from various locations across the world. In essence, this mode of telecommunication allows a business to effectively carry out its daily function regardless of location. The Internet may be considered a WAN.
